Mikayla Hughes

Join us in congratulating Mikayla Hughes, our Victus Player of the Month winner for February! Mikayla rounded out February with a .571 batting average and 11 putouts to go along with a perfect fielding percentage. She played in the high school Nook Dome League with Hempfield, hitting her first home run of the season against Lower Dauphin. Mikayla is a common face in the Academy, working privately on catching and hitting with Coach Nicki Starry and defensively with Coach Kirsten Hertzog. When she’s not taking individual lessons, she catches pitching lessons from players working with Coach Cassisdy Pinchorski to improve her game while helping others in the process. Mikayla plays on both 16u and 18u Central Penn Lady Renegade teams and works as a Player Coach for our new Jr. Renegades baseball & softball program. Mikayla also enrolled in the Coach in Training program for February. Mikayla is in the gifted program at Hempfield High School and works as a tutor during her flex periods while also volunteering for miniTHON. She’s the manager for the Varsity Swimming and Diving team, has received superior honors every marking period, and volunteers her time helping coach 10u and 12u softball teams with Hempfield Youth Association. Mikayla is focused on continuing her playing career in college and has visited Shippensburg’s overnight camp, Lancaster PA Showcase Skills & Recruiting Clinic, and Diamonds in the Dirt Recruiting Showcase. Congratulations to Mikayla Hughes for being named our Victus Player of the Month for February!
