January 2020 Winner
We are proud to announce that our Victus Player of the Month January, is Emma Maurer for the 16u Lady Renegades (Starry). This is Emma’s second Victus Player of the Month award in the past 6 months, but coaches, teammates, and staff members at the Academy would all agree that she is well-deserving of the honor. Emma works on private hitting lessons with Coach Nicki Starry, private pitching lessons with Coach Cassidy Pinchorski, and private speed & explosion lessons with Coach Kirsten Hertzog at the ITN Academy. Outside of the Academy, Emma works with a private trainer on flexibility and strength training, while volunteering as a peer tutor, and playing softball and volleyball. Emma also volunteers for a Sunday School, working with 1st through 3rd grade students and works in the food pantry as a volunteer. Emma’s selflessness and kind heart can be recognized by anyone that plays on her team, coaches her, or interacts with her on a daily basis. In fact, one of the rewards of winning the Victus Player of the Month is receiving a free Rawlings glove. Since Emma won recently and recognized that she did not need another new glove, she decided to ask for a catcher’s mitt as her new glove to give to her father, Mark, so that he could catch her pitching lessons with a new glove (see picture below). Emma has been focusing on achieving her softball dreams by visiting multiple college clinics in January including West Chester, Bloomsburg, and Kutztown to name a few. On the diamond, Emma rounded in out January by hitting .455 against the California Prospects, .500 against the Nevada Hotshots, .467 against the Ohio Maniacs, .550 against the Tuscon Royals, and .421 against the California Firecrackers while registering a win on the mound against the Ohio Maniacs in the Las Vegas tournament her team traveled to. Join us in congratulating Emma Maurer, our Victus Player of the Month for January 2020!
