Baseball Pitching Instructor
Travis Thome was a 2007 graduate of Eastern Lebanon County School (ELCO) where he led the baseball team to a District 3 runner-up finish and the first PIAA State Tournament appearance in ELCO's history
Travis furthered his baseball career by pitching for Messiah College where he was a 4 year starting pitcher. While at Messiah, Thome set several career and single-season records for the Falcons. Thome set new career marks for appearances (47), starts (40) and innings pitched (251) as well as single-season records for starts (12), innings pitched (86.1) in 2011.
During his time with the Falcons, he won 17 games and totaled 218 career strikeouts while helping Messiah to a pair of Commonwealth Conference Championships and one NCAA Division III Tournament appearance. Thome posted a career best six wins, 3.75 ERA, and 80 K's to wrap up his senior season in 2011.
Thome also played four seasons for the Palmyra Twilight baseball team in which he cruised to a 42-1 pitching record.
In 2012, Travis Thome was named the head baseball coach at Eastern Maine Community College as well as breaking ground with the first baseball program and team within the schools existence. He led the Golden Eagles to a conference tournament berth in their very first season and EMCC went on to place second in the Fall of 2013 during the New England Collegiate Association Tournament. Thome additionally served as Sports Information Director for the 10 other collegiate sports programs at EMCC.
In 2014, Travis came back to PA and served as an assistant coach for Arcadia University. Since 2014, Travis has been the head coach for Richland Senior Legion and in 2018, he led the team to their first Regional Tournament appearance in over a decade.
